Ordered two pizzas, one burnt and the other had a floury edge. Olives and peppers were very salty, probably taken out of the jar and not drained properly. Staff was friendly, the pizzas were awful. There are much better pizzas in Munich / Schwabing.

Classic in Munich, I've known him since I was little, and compared to Franz Josef Strauss ate my pizza;)

The pizza was great, the pasta was great too! It's a nice place with a small beer garden in the courtyard! The waitresses are nice :)

Unfortunately there was far too much ricotta in the calzone pizza. I would have expected mozzarella. The batter was superb. The 4 stars anyway

Traditional Italian Always nice to eat on the courtyard terrace and to be warmly welcomed. Delicious, traditional, very friendly service. But I often find the prices too high for the good, but not outstanding cuisine.

I've been going to Mario for over 20 years. I not only think the good quality of the dishes has not changed, the furnishings have also remained the same. Depending on where you sit, it is cozy to very comfortable. The restaurant is spacious and you can go there with larger groups. The atmosphere is Italian and the waiters friendly. My favorite is the starter plate from the display case.

Fantastic Italian food! The pizza, pasta and the desserts were all really really good... We had ordered the Pizza alla Mario, Pizza Thunfisch, Sphagetti Aglio Olio, Sphagetti Carbonara, Gnocchi Tomato Mozzarella and then Tiramisu and Panna Cotta...and everything was delicious! The service was very warm and the staff was very friendly... speaking English, Italian and German. Very large seating space indoors and some outdoors. Highly recommended!

We were there yesterday. Even during Corona the restaurant is full. The atmosphere is good and cozy. The service was friendly and welcoming and the pizza was good. The toilets are also clean. Gladly again ?

Nice place, but for the first Italian restaurant in Munich I excepted more. An average Italian restaurant not bad but not excellent either.

As a pizza fan I tried almost all the pizzerias in Munich, and I can say honestly that this one is the best.

A classic in Munich. Very good stone oven pizza, otherwise typical Italian cuisine at a good level. Always very well attended, authentic atmosphere and a super nice team.

Not the ideal shop if you are hungry and thirsty. Not even if you want to spend little money on great service. In the end I had a guilty conscience that I might have come too close to the overwhelmed staff with my demands for food and drink and unfortunately I can no longer go there. There are now much hotter Italians / pizzerias in Munich. Too bad ...

The patio is really nice, away from the street and you can enjoy the weather Food wise - the pizzas are not that special, they are ok but def not the best in Munich. People at my table shared that option

Very nice, calzone pizza was amazing!

The restaurant is really nice and it has a cozy atmosphere. Typical Italian, with several drawings and paintings related to Italy. Friendly staff and nice service. I ordered pizza and I must say I was disappointed. It is not bad, but definitely not an authentic napoletan pizza. You can find better pizzerias in Munich and at a cheaper price (maybe not in the same area). As dessert I ordered tiramisù, really good. Only downside they use some liquor in the cream which is not my favourite way of making tiramisù. Overall a nice place worth trying.

Genuine Italian Feeling in Schwabing since 1966. Service was nice , the surrounding are dated but functional. 1960s feel.

Finally a real parmigiana with fried and not grilles aubergines.... But the waiter was so rude i couldnt even believe it.

Best pizza in the Munich

Good food for a ok price and friendly service!

Long-established Italian, nice that it still exists. The garlic spaghetti is always extremely well done. On the last visit we ordered risotto, variant with saffron and the other with peas and mushrooms. This time, the risotto could have been a bit grottier. Otherwise okay. The passion fruit was a bit thin, could have had more juice. The service was as fast as usual, you can not complain. Not very charming though. Could be kinder. There are plenty of seats available, indoors and outdoors, especially the green courtyard is beautiful.

The place is good, but nothing out of the ordinary. The waiters were friendly and the prices acceptable. I got pizza and was really hoping to get a very Italian experience, but it just wasn't that good. The pizza had the usual German pickled peppers on it, the dough tasted a bit stale, and just overall, although I wouldn't call the prices cheap, it just didn't deliver for me. Just another German pizza as far as I'm concerned. So as the entire experience was average, the rating also reflects this. If you're just looking for some random pizza, this is an ok place.

Amazing food and service, in a very nice environment. Came here on a Saturday with a group of 8 people and had a variety of dishes, all portions were massive and tasted great. Would definitely recommend this place.

We are at the Mario in Munich on a regular basis. Family food becomes a feast. Great service, Italian great food! Anyone who has not been here should definitely visit MARIO. Fair prices. One of my favorite Italians in Munich. Already 20 years ago with my girls like to have been there ... until today!

A bit slow for lunch.

Pasta was good and well done, waiters were bad, drinks were expensive. Waiters were not paying attention to the customers, dissapeared for a while, and the food was nothing extraordinary. I would not recommend it. Many other italian restaurants in the neighbourhood much better.
